About our paddle range

This collection brings together every pickleball paddle, bat and racket we sell. You’ll find globally-recognised brands like Joola, Head, Selkirk, Six Zero, Vatic Pro, CRBN and ProKennex, alongside our curated picks for new and improving players. Whether you call it a paddle, a bat, a racket or a racquet, everything in this category lives on a single page — singular and plural, UK and US English — so you can compare like-for-like across the entire range.

The UK pickleball scene has matured fast over the past three years. There’s now a genuine choice of premium paddles stocked locally rather than shipped at six-week lead times from the US, and our curation focuses on paddles that match the realities of UK club play: portable nets, mixed indoor and outdoor courts, and a player base growing fastest in the 35–65 bracket. Beginner paddles in this collection start around £30 and prioritise a forgiving sweet spot; tournament paddles at the top end approach £250 and reward precise contact with explosive response.

How to choose a pickleball paddle

Three specs matter most when you’re choosing your first proper paddle, or stepping up from a starter. Here’s a quick primer — the spec sheet on each individual product page goes deeper.

Weight

Most UK players settle around 220–235g (7.8–8.3 oz). Lighter is more manoeuvrable at the kitchen; heavier adds power but tires the wrist over a long session.

Core thickness

16mm polypropylene gives soft, controlled play and longer dwell time. 13mm gives a stiffer, faster, more aggressive response — favoured by baseliners.

Face material

Raw carbon for spin and durability. Fibreglass for a forgiving sweet spot. Thermoformed unibody for premium pop and the most refined feel.

UK warehouse · Free returns · Same-day dispatch over £50

No customs charges, no three-week wait, no surprise import VAT. Every paddle ships from the UK with full retailer-backed returns.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a pickleball paddle the same as a pickleball bat or racket?

Yes. “Paddle” is the US English term; “bat”, “racket” and “racquet” are the UK alternatives. They all refer to the same piece of kit and we use the terms interchangeably across the site. A search for “pickleball bats UK” or “pickleball rackets” will surface this same page.

What weight pickleball paddle should a beginner choose?

Most new UK players are best served by a midweight paddle of around 220–235g (7.8–8.3 oz). Lighter paddles are easier to manoeuvre at the net but can feel underpowered on drives; heavier paddles add power but tire your wrist over a long session. Our Beginner Pickleball Paddles collection focuses on paddles in this range with forgiving sweet spots.

Are these paddles tournament-approved?

Every paddle in our range is made to USAPA / IFP tournament specifications for face roughness, dimensions and core construction. Pickleball England competition rules follow USAPA approval, so any paddle from this collection is legal for UK club, league and national tournament play. Specific approval status is listed on each individual paddle’s product page.

What’s the difference between a control paddle and a power paddle?

Control paddles use a thicker core (typically 16mm polypropylene honeycomb) which gives more dwell time on the face — better touch on dinks and resets at the kitchen. Power paddles use a thinner 13mm core with a stiffer thermoformed carbon-fibre face, transferring more energy on drives but sacrificing some precision. Most intermediate UK players settle on 16mm; aggressive baseliners often prefer 13mm. Our Intermediate Pickleball Paddles page has both.

Do you ship pickleball paddles from a UK warehouse?

Yes. All paddles dispatch from our UK warehouse with free returns and same-day UK dispatch on orders over £50. You won’t pay customs charges or wait the 2–3 weeks typical of US-direct orders.

Which pickleball paddle brand is best in the UK?

The answer depends on your level and budget. Joola (Ben Johns Hyperion, Perseus, Scorpeus) is the most-searched brand globally and a strong all-round pick. Head has the largest UK retail footprint, with the Radical Elite as a popular entry option. Selkirk and Six Zero are favourites among intermediate to advanced players, while Vatic Pro and CRBN have built strong direct-to-consumer reputations.
